Mediation Certificates

For many claims relating to leases and tenancy it is compulsory that the parties first attend a mediation and  obtain a mediation certificate before proceeding with a claim before the Court or VCAT.  At mediation a trained mediator will attempt to guide the parties towards a settlement of the dispute by voluntary agreement between the parties. A mediator has no power to order the parties to do anything.
